Female Make-up:
- Concealer - Cover marks and blemishes (Optional)
- Blush and - Give yourself a glow by gently brushing blush on the apples of your cheeks, sweeping up and out towards the hairline. Be sure to blend it softly to get rid of any harsh lines.
- Setting your make up - Gently sweep or dab powder, using a powder brush, on your face to dull shiny areas and set the applied makeup. Alternatively you can use a makeup setting spray.
- Eye Shadow - (Odessa and Up). Have 2 shades of eye shadow, apply the lightest shade near the inside cover of the eye lid, and the darker shade in a "C" shape out toward the eyebrow. Slightly blend the colors together.
- Line your lids -
Kosiv and younger - With black eyeliner, apply a thin curved line starting from the outer corner of the eye and go up towards the end of the brow.
Odessa and up- With a black eyeliner, apply a thin, straight line starting from the inner corner of the eye. Allow the line to extend in a curved line up towards the end of the brow.
6. Highlight - Add white eyeliner above the extended black eyeliner from the outer corner of the eye. If you use eyeshadow, a white dot to the inner corner of your eye.
7. Volumize - (Kosiv and up) Curl your eyelashes and apply black mascara. Odessa and up, add false eyelashes.
8. Lips - Apply lip stick with CAUTION and always make sure your lips are well hydrated and not chapped. Apply lipstick AFTER you put on your blouse.
Most new makeup is good for up to two years, store in a cool place. A refrigerated place is best during the off season.

Female Double Sided French Braid: Tutorial

For Competitions and Performances. Please ask a fellow dance parent or the costume directors to show you how to secure the braid ends up on to the head going in opposite directions and blended into the braid on the skull. This is achieved by sewing the hair, and/or, using large/medium bun pins.

Male Hair:
Please make sure boys/men's long hair is secured towards the back/sides. We want to keep hair from falling into their face and obscuring their view. May be tied in a bun, or simply secured back with hair products and bobby pins.

Practice Attire
Female Dancers
- Hair in a bun, if it's too short then tightly secured
- Black, nude or white sports bras (if needed)
- Bodysuits are required, may wear short (not booty) shorts for comfort.
- Black or nude tights
- Must have a ballet skirt, any color or pattern is acceptable.
- No hoodies or sweaters but can wear a tight fitted shirt over a bodysuit.
- Black Leather ballet slippers for warm up, Kosiv and older can wear elasta booties.
Male Dancers
- Longer hair tightly secured
- Plain black (or very small logo) fitted t-shirt, no tank tops.
- Tight fitting pants, no shorts.
- Appropriate support undergarments if required for your group.
- Black Leather ballet slipper for warm up, Kosiv and older can wear elasta booties.
Competitive Costumes
In an effort keep costs at a minimal for our dancers/families, PUDS do not require dancers to purchase costumes. Instead, PUDS rents out club owned costumes at a fee of $50.00 per costume, per dancer up to $100.00.
Each costume requires a damage deposit to reflect the replacement value in the event a costume(s) is returned in un-wearable condition, is lost, stollen or simply not returned to the club at the season's end.
For all leather footwear, Capezio or Block are preferred brands. Please check with the costume director to confirm color if they are a different brand.
Ladies
Hair - All groups
- Double French braids with ends tucked in securely against the bottom of the head.
- Sewn, if possible, with hair color matching thread or securely bobby pinned.
- No color showing ribbons or ties.
- Hair nets that best match hair color.
Beginners:
- Nude or white tank top
- White bike shorts (if needed depends on costume).
- Red leather ballet slippers
Kyiv:
- Nude or white tank top
- White half slip

Each costume is subject to a damaged beyond repair/lost/stollen. These fees range between $250.00 to $450.00 per costume. You may be charged a fee for any costume in need of repairs that cost more than the rental fee.
Required purchases: Each dancer is required to purchase his or her own shoes, stockings, make-up and hair supplies.
